“What would you say you do here?”
The video above gives a quick answer to the question above, but maybe you can’t watch it now, so here's a quick summary!
I am a guy who has worked in live production and film for the last 15 years, led teams, and managed several projects. I’m now doing that on my own with Swift Stream.
I break down my services into four different areas:
Gear Work - Professional AV gear can be tricky to deal with sometimes. Leverage my experience.
People Work - Leading people and creating good processes around people can be difficult. I can help.
General Project Management (bottom of this page) - When projects get to a certain size or complexity, running them off of a notepad can be a headache. Let me come in and organize things so you can focus on the big picture.
AV Freelance Labor - I still love recording and mixing audio, playing with lights, and all things proAV.
Regardless of what kind of help you need, let’s book an initial call or meeting below.
Initial Call or Meeting
FREE
Let’s start by getting to know each other. After all, if we work together, we need to be able to work together. Plus, this initial call allows me to hear what’s going on, what you need, and allows us both time evaluate whether or not we’re a good fit. If not, I’m always happy to recommend someone else.
Example:
We know we have network issues, but we aren't sure what they are or how to fix them.
Example:
We know the audio on our live stream isn't the best, and we want to make it better.
Full Evaluation
Project Dependent, Usually Around $300-750.
The full evaluation is where I come in and figure out what’s wrong. Sometimes, it’s simple enough that I fix it then and there. Sometimes, it requires more time, tools, and work. If that’s the case, I write up a report of what I found and recommend a solution. Oftentimes, I can provide that solution, so I’ll also give you a quote. But the final decision is up to you. The price of the full evaluation depends on how complex the problem is and how long I estimate it will take to diagnose.
Example: I recently evaluated a wireless system that was interrupting services. It was determined that frequency coordination was needed (putting the frequencies in use on less-busy sections of the RF spectrum). Some of the receivers also had their squelch set too low and occasionally opened to let noise through. In this case, I was able to fix the solution in one visit, but also attended a service afterward just to monitor and be sure.
Example: A location was having system-wide network issues. We evaluated for half a day and then determined a course of action with a project plan that the client could implement themselves or bring us in to do. They decided to bring us in to implement this plan. After a week, things were back to normal and with better documentation!
The Miscellaneous Services
Project Management
Project Dependent, usually either project-based or hourly, starting at $75/hr.
All of the projects above require some level of project management, but I offer project management on an as-needed basis for things that don’t fit one of the molds above. Depending on the complexity of the project a project plan will usually include a defined scope, stakeholders, budget, work breakdown structure, project log, and more.
Example:
We know we need some graphics and videos for a capital campaign, but we don’t know where to start, what to budget, or how long it should take.
Example:
We are considering merging with another organization and have a rough idea of why and when, but don’t know how.
Freelance AV Labor
Position Dependent, usually $550 day-rate, $300 half-day-rate.
I’ve done some form of freelance AV for the last 15 years. I have more details on my experience and links to book me on a separate page, click the button below.
